Formats
Paper Sessions: Three presentations in 30-minute slots; each presenter has 20 minutes to speak and 10 minutes to answer questions.
Panels: Three to five panelists speaking consecutively for no more than 45 minutes total, followed by 30 minutes of discussion and interaction
Poster Sessions: One-hour interactive poster session on Friday; posters will be on display throughout the conference in the Terrace Room.
Self-organizing Sessions: Discussion sessions on topics posted by individuals at the conference; Open Space Technology will be used to facilitate session and produce outcomes.
Workshops: allow for more interaction and detailed treatment of a topic than possible in other formats; each workshop is one and a half hours.
Plenaries: one or more invited experts on specific topics will address the entire conference for 20-30 minutes each, followed by questions and discussion.
Exhibits: Exhibitors and vendors with information on sustainability organizations, publications, curriculum, degree programs, and products will be set up in Franz Hall near the conference registration table.
Field Trips: visits to campuses, field sites, and community projects in the greater Portland area on Thursday, October 21.
